Desire-full of taking his leisure boating company to the next level, in 2001 Roberto Buonomo decides to push the limits of his SuperClassic boats by racing them in the Endurance offshore championships, challenging the national & international big names in the field. From the Mediterranean to the Ocean, the SuperClassic boats have proven to the world what they are capable of: Extreme performances in total security, without ever compromising their style and comfort.
The debut in the racing world came in 2001 in the Ionian Sea where the SuperClassic 40 beats the world record, flying on the waves faster that anyone else. From this moment success story become a constant, with Roberto Buonomo’s Offshore CN winning the Italian, European and World Championships for 2 years in a row. In 2002 came the cherry on the cake, when SuperClassic made history by taking part in the “Cowes - Torquay - Cowes” races in the British waters and winning the “British International Harmsworth Trophy”, consider the most important nautical race together with the American Cup.
The same year Offshore CN puts together the first completely female racing team, and four young women armed with a competitive spirit and a passion for speed, win the Italian Championship and European one in their field.

The British International Harmsworth Trophy was the first international championship for speedboats ever created.
Officially, it is not a race between boats and individuals, but a race between participating countries.
Originally the rules dictated that the boats had to be entirely designed and built in their home country, using only local materials.
The rules were then revised in 1949, however it remains that this is the oldest nautical competition and was launched by Sir Alfred Charles William Harmsworth, Viscount of Northcliffe, in 1903.
Since 2002 the Championship is open to the fasten single-hull boats in the Endurance competitions, creating a race which puts man and machine against the ocean, in a race like no other.
